A Dog Named Robot

Eighty years ago, a dog named Robot stumbled into a hole. The hole he fell into led to the discovery of the most famous and exceptional paleolithic cave paintings in the world: the Lascaux Cave Paintings. This story of chance, accidental findings, and exploration is how I approach making art. My work makes connections between the micro and macro: the larger question for me is understanding the interdependency of how we exist within our environment and how our environment exists in us. This exhibition of paintings is a culmination of my three years of graduate studies at UNT and my field research into Texas cave systems, funded by a grant from the Dallas Museum of Art.
